| Musician, writer, producer | Tears for Fears |
"It's evolution. I'm frankly shocked that we lasted
as long as we did. And actually, you know - the primary
feeling when you've taken enough time away from it and
you can be objective about it, is that most of those
years were great. It was really only the last few that
were a real pain."
Gene Williams | Musician, artist | "Its like this: You write what you know.
You can write about "Sunshine, Lollipops and
Rainbows" or you can write "911s A
Joke." Either way youre making a statement.
Thats what musics about. Even without lyrics,
a performer is still making a statement. Its up to
the listener to decide whether or not he or she agrees
with that statement."
Warren
Adler
| Author, "War of the Roses," "Random
Hearts" | "In the
creative process stories do not get hatched whole like
chicks. They grow in the subconscious, sometimes in
unruly ways. In the process of writing, characters flesh
out, become real, behave in different ways. What starts
out in conscious logic disappears into the subconscious
then emerges through story."
Konrad
Hernblad
| Founder International Interracial Association | "Psychologically,
I think that
people need to have a "scapegoat" on whom they
can blame their mistakes and to make them feel superior.
Because a person's race is often identified with their
skin color and looks, visually-identifiable traits, these
are the easiest ways to discriminate."
Shannon
Larratt |
Founder Body Modification EZine | "People into
bod mod are not usually into it to freak people out. It's
very personal. It's not for other people. It's there to
make themselves happy. People into plastic surgery are
also trying to make themselves happy... they simply have
a different idea of what they want to look like. It's all
the same thing, it just fits into the social scheme
differently."
Betty
Broderick
| Convicted murderer | "I was the perfect little
Catholic schoolgirl. I bought the program hook, line and
sinker - big sinker! Marry the man of your dreams who
will be a good provider for you and your many children.
Be beautiful, have a beautiful home, beautiful children,
be active in church and community, watch the kids grow,
marry them off and be grandparents."
